BlackBerry Labs is a team focused on strategic research and development initiatives. Spanning academia and in close collaboration with multiple business units including Cybersecurity and IoT, BlackBerry Labs undertakes research and development tasks exploring new technologies and concepts shaping the future of BlackBerry.

BlackBerry Labs is led by Chief Technology Officer Charles Eagan.

As innovators in cybersecurity and embedded systems, we are developing technologies to address global cybersecurity issues, including:

Since its inception in 2018, BlackBerry Labs has created new technologies and developed and improved upon existing technologies, including:

BlackBerry IVY™, a Cloud- and OS-neutral data platform for the automotive industry

CylancePROTECT® Mobile, extending our endpoint protection framework to mobile devices

CylanceOPTICS®, adding support for Linux servers and desktops
